The Widmer Model 1800 Cashscan is the original and most popular counterfeit detection device in the world. The Cashscan Model 1800 verifies the magnetic properties of the ink on the face of all U.S. dollar currencies in order to verify the authenticity of a bill. Genuine bills are identified with a green light while counterfeit or suspect bills are identified with a red light, as well as an audible tone.
